Black death - the plague of God
During thousand years, nobody questioned that the plague (Yersinia pestis) had been sent on ground by God in person in punishment of their sins.
The word plague however indicates in the past all the epidemic diseases.
No war did as many deaths as the great plague or Black Death. Since 1347, and during more than four centuries, it devastated Europe. The historians estimate that half of the population perishes of this disease, that is to say thirty to forty million Europeans, during the first five years when it devastated Europe from Naples in Moscow.
